Chapter 1

Panting. Terrified eyes. Sweat running down her face. "(NAME)!!" Keep running. Dodge the trees. Try to escape. "(NAME)!!!" Please, don't trip, she thought. It was reaching dusk; the worst time in the world to be running from a psychotic man.

Her step-father was right on her heels with a belt in his hand, "(NAME) IF YOU DO NOT SLOW DOWN I WILL KILL YOU." As if that's convincing.. (Name) thought to herself. Running in socks down through a creepy dark forest was every girl's ideal evening, right?

Suddenly, she tripped over a risen tree root. "Ow!" She cried in pain, "Oh god.. no..." Unable to even move her right foot, she was left powerless as her asshole of a step-dad purposefully sauntered over to her; taking his sweet time as if to prove some kind of point.

"You should've listened, you little bitch.. you have your mother's whore face.." Tears brimmed her eyes in anger. "My mother deserves so much better than you! She always has!" Smack! "A-AGH!" A new welt on her arm. "I'm gonna kill you, you disrespectful wretch."

Struggling to get up, she writhed about in the mud and dirt before practically screaming in pain; her ankle completely out of commission. "You ain't gettin' nowhere, doll." More tears. Another lashing.

She was going to die very, very slowly. Crack! Flinch. Crack! Sob. With each hit she lost a little more consciousness; lost a little more faith. Trying to escape the pain, she sunk down into the earth beneath her, just to make some distance between her and the monster hovering over her body.

What was she supposed to do? Was she just going to sit there and let him talk trash about her mother to her face?

Flashback

"(Mother's name), you're pathetic. You call this food? I'd rather eat dog shit!" Smack. Sobbing. Apologies. "I-I'll be better next time, Harold.." "There won't be a next time you keep cooking this bad, bitch."

"Get away from my mother! Haven't you done enough? You're ruining our lives!" Rushing over to her mother's fallen body, she inspected her for any wounds. A giant red hand mark across the side of her face. "Are you okay momma?" Tears in her eyes, she watched her mother feign a smile and give her a hug.

"Who said you could talk to your father that way? I pay for the bills, your clothes, your school, I paid for your fucking internet service! You disrespect me in the home that I pay for? I'll teach you respect, child." Harold screamed at the top of his lungs, making the two women jump and shrivel up in fear.

"(Name)," Her mother turned to her with sad, scared eyes, "please, run. He'll hurt you." Harold trudged to the back room; she could hear the jingling in his closet. Who knows what the fucker would pull out this time.

"I'll come back momma.. I'll come back for you." She promised as she gave her mother one last kiss on the cheek; not sure if her words held true. Bolting out the back door, she only knew one avenue; the woods. They were steep and thick with trees, but she bet on the fact Harold was fat and stupid so that she could escape.

End Flashback

"M-Momma.." She muttered into the dirt. "What, what is it, bitch? You wanna talk?" Harold's smirk held cruelly on his thin, snake-like lips. His bushy, 70's inspired mustache hid what little of his top lip remained.

"Shame you're a dumb whore, you got a nice body." His beady dark eyes shone with sick, twisted glee. "S-stay.. stay away from me.." Barely whispering the words, he leaned in closer; she could practically taste the alcohol on his breath.

All of a sudden, there was a hollowed thump, and then silence. She felt a sticky substance drip on her body. "O-oh.. H-Harold..?" "Shut up," a male voice uttered. It hardly sounded human. Her hands held to the root that caused this mess in now clear fear.

Turning her head just enough, she saw her step father beheaded. "W-what.." "Didn't you hear me? Shut. Up." Crack. Crack. The sound of the male's neck sent shivers down her spine. Doesn't that hurt? "You're trespassing. This is Slender's forest." He stated simply, his now bloody axes leaning threateningly over her.

"I'm sorry.. b-but I can't move, I think I broke my ankle.." She whimpered quietly. Great, if Harold didn't do it, well, she had someone else who would. "What a pain.." he murmured, lifting his axes from her body. "Look, I'm pretty tired, so count your blessings. I'll take you out of this forest if-crack, snap- you promise not to return. Got it?"

"Y-yeah, I got it.." Suddenly, she was lifted. There was a burning thought in the back of her head, I hope he doesn't think I'm super heavy.. in slight embarrassment, she blushed and looked up to her captor's face.

His eyes stared directly at her. His warm honey brown eyes hidden by his orange goggles, but they still held a crazy atmospheric burning to them. Her (color) eyes shone slight fear as he chuckled, "Didn't you hear me, girl? I won't hurt you, not right now. Mind telling me who that friend of yours was?"

As he walked through the forest, he noticed the snapped tree branches and bushes that were trampled. "He.. he was my step-dad.. he was drunk again." Beneath his mouth guard, there was a deep scowl.

Bad memories. She reminded him of bad memories. "I see. I'm glad he's dead and gone. I take it this mess was your doing?" He motioned towards the trampled forestry in a clear path that he seemed to be following.

"Y-yeah.. I'm so sorry." Crack. Snap. Crack. "It's okay. I know what it's like." He said nothing else for the trip. Finally, he stopped in front of her back yard. "This yours?" She merely nodded. He carried her to the back door and gently sat her down on the chair they kept out for Harold's late night drinking.

It reeked of alcohol. Finally, she sighed and looked down at her bruised, bloody, and swollen ankle. "Fuck," she muttered, "how will I get to school..?" "Get that checked out by a doctor by the way, I think it might be broken."

He looked away from her, before saying, "I'll come back." "W-what?" She murmured, her voice hoarse from her previous screaming and sobbing. "I'll see you, again." With that, he walked back into the woods. She didn't know his name, or his intentions.

"(Name)! Oh, oh (Name)! Are you okay?" Moments later her mother appeared out of the house, holding her tightly. "M-mom, I think my foot might be broken. Can we go to the hospital..?"

"Of course, honey. Where's.. Harold?" Her mother's (color) eyes searched desperately in (Name)'s. "Mom.. a monster, he got him.. I managed to crawl through the forest, but I don't know how safe it is to be back there." Her mother turned her head, "I.. I'm just glad you're okay. Come, I'll walk you to the car."

As she entered the car, she could feel eyes on her back, but every time she turned, there was never anyone there. "(Name)?" "I-I know," she said, getting in the passenger's seat.

His eyes glowed with curiosity. She was a strange one. Of course her story, it wasn't all wrong. He was a monster, after all. Finally turning his back from the car driving off, he sauntered back to the woods he knew as home now. Slender might be mad at him for letting the girl escape unharmed.

At the hospital, her mother sat in the waiting room as they attended to her ankle. "It isn't broken, but it is definitely sprained, and will need an immobilizer for about two weeks." Said the doctor, his smile assuring enough to lead her into thinking things would be okay.

"Okay, it's summer, though, so if I get over heated?" "Just take it off and lie down. You won't be able to do a lot of things on your own, so your mother will most likely do a lot to compensate. I'm sorry to have to say."

She sighed. Of course, like always, mom got the bad end of the deal thanks to someone else. "Okay.." They put the boot on her leg and she learned to walk with a slight limp in her step. Soon (Name) was reunited with her worrisome mother.

"(Name), how is it?" The doctor took a step forward with a small smile, "She'll be fine. No broken bones, but her ankle definitely took a strong hit. She'll need an immobilizer for a few weeks to help with walking and such."

Her mother nodded and paid for everything, leading her teen daughter back to the car. "Hey, it looks kinda cool." ( sp.yimg.com/ib/th?id=JN.1nhJdn… ) "Sure.. I mean, other than the fact it's heavy and clunky.."

"At least no bones were broken.." Her mother muttered under her breath, driving them back home. "Mom, please don't ever fall for another pig like step-dad was." Her mother looked at her sharply before saying, "(Name), I can love who I want. I'm an adult, but.. I appreciate your concern."

That usually meant "I don't blame your step-dad for all the shit he put me through." She sighed. Of course (Name) couldn't protect her mother like she wished she could. She sat back and watched the cars zoom past.

At home, she sat on her bed and turned on her fairy lights, as it was pitch black outside. Ringing out her hair with the towel, she laid back and checked her computer. Good, the internet was working. She researched for a little while on this Slender, and found out he had proxies. She saw him again. So, his name was Ticci Toby..

She then proceeded to research his back story. It was so awful... how could people be so cruel? Well, she knew now what he meant by "I know what it's like." His father was abusive when he was drunk. How sad. Well, if he kept his promise, she'd see him again.

.. Part of her didn't know how she felt about that. Sighing, she decided it was late, as it was midnight and closed her laptop, turning off her lights and snuggled into her sheets. Closing her eyes, she swore she felt breathing at the back of her neck.

No. It was just the paranoia.. just.. sleep.
Jeez.. that was a long chapter to write.. phew. Hope you enjoyed it though.
